The
Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC) is
seeking help from the Ethiopian Diaspora and other
donors
The
Institute of Development and Education for Africa
(IDEA), Inc. would like to encourage its
subscribers to extend financial contributions to
ECDC’s Axumite Heritage Foundation (AHF) library
project at Aksum, Ethiopia. The construction of
the library had begun in 2010 but AHF was unable
to complete its project due to financial
constraints. IDEA has deep appreciation to ECDC
and AHF’s initiatives and strongly believes that
this great purpose needs the support of all of us.
Upon
completion, the three-story library would have
state-of-the-art facilities such as reading rooms,
book stacks, auditorium, exhibition hall, and a
cafeteria. The library will also provide
educational programs for the public, including
computer training, literacy classes, and public
lectures and discussion forums on the history and
cultures of Ethiopia.
The
Aksumite Heritage Foundation is currently
campaigning for a fund drive of $64,000 and
Ethiopians and other donors are asked to chip in
for this noble endeavor. Individuals or groups,
who would like to donate, please contact Ezana
Teferra at eteferra@ecdcus.org
or call
1-703-685-0510; if you wish to send your
contribution via the conventional way, you may use
the following address:
