PUBLIC DISCUSSION ON ETHIOPIA

SOCEPP Canada cordially invites you and your family to a public discussion exploring major issues affecting current day Ethiopia and their implications for democratization and Human Rights. We are fortunate to bring you a team of distinguished and remarkable scholars from the US and Canada , to inform you and engage you on a number of important topics.

Mr. David Lord, Executive Director of Peacebuild Canada will make opening remarks on peace in Ethiopia and Africa .

Three main speakers will make presentations on the following topics:

Dr. Busha Taa, Lecturer and former President of the Ethiopian Association of Toronto .

Looking ahead by looking back: Two Decades of Ethnic based Politics in Ethiopia , implication for Ethiopia ’s Stability

Dr Ghelawdewos Araia, Professor of Education at City University of New York . 

TOPIC: The Role of the Diaspora in the Quest for Democratization in Ethiopia .

Dr Worku Aberra, Chair of the Economics Department at Dawson College in Montreal

TOPIC: The Inquitable Distribution of Health Services in Ethiopia . 

PS: At the end of the discussion there will be a book signing event by Dr. Ghelawdewos on his new book titled፣ “Cultures that We Must Preserve and Reject” (Amharic).
